As a senior leader within the U.S. Government, Jonathan has directed multi-disciplinary programs spanning quantum computing, secure communications, advanced sensing, cyber operations, and AI/ML — including a ten-year strategic roadmap for a national quantum and photonics initiative. He has led cross-functional teams of 30 or more engineers and specialists, managed full-lifecycle acquisitions and contract execution under FAR/DFARS, including IDIQ vehicles, and delivered mission-critical technologies from concept through operational deployment.

Jonathan founded Arcane Cyber in 2019. Working directly with small businesses on network security and data protection, he identified a persistent gap: existing security products were often too costly or too complex to maintain effectively. That observation shaped Arcane Cyber’s current focus — building practical, deployable security technology for the AI and quantum era. He also founded Black Spire in 2020 to help connect emerging cyber, quantum, and AI/ML innovations with investors and strategic partners for commercialization.

He is the inventor of Efemeral, developed by applying game-theory principles to the economics of ransomware, and holds three patents, including a quantum-resistant encryption key method. He holds an MS in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University, along with executive education from MIT, Harvard, and Northwestern. He is a PMP-certified program manager and has spoken on applied AI/ML for data analysis at the C4ISR conference and on the future of emerging technologies at a Defense Intelligence Agency directed-energy weapons panel.
